Head of Operations, India

With the growth of our organisation, we are looking for a professional talent to join us as the Head of Operations, India to build a sustainable business and deliver our key initiatives in India. This is a role ideally suited for an experienced, senior executive with strong leadership, collaboration, and organisational skills, with a passion for impacting positive change. It is a full-time position based in Bengaluru, reporting to the CEO and the Executive Director, New Business Initiative & Growth.

It is a full-time position based in Bengaluru, reporting to the CEO and the Executive Director, New Business Initiative & Growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

The Head of Operations, India will be responsible for:

Change Management and Operational Transformation

  • Working closely with the Executive Team and the Senior Managers to provide input to the organisation’s strategic plan, operationalising it and implementing processes and approaches to achieve it for CB India.
  • Driving organisational effectiveness, including continuous improvement of and automation of operational processes and workflows. Report preparation and analytics (people and finance data) to underpin decision-making.

People and Culture

  • Working with the Executive Team, formulate and drive the organisation’s people and culture management strategy for CB India, with the aim of building a highly engaged and professional team and workplace culture that is empowering, inclusive and supportive.
  • Leading HR function for CB India to drive and manage full spectrum of human resources (HR) functions including manpower planning and budgeting, recruitment, onboarding, compensation and benefits, administration, performance appraisals and employee engagement.

Finance and Technology

  • Build the Annual Operating Planning for CB India as part of the overall planning process which includes the production of the Indian P&L.
  • Oversee the successful execution of the annual operating plan ensuring all P&L assumptions are met.
  • Supervising the finance function in India on financial management and control, including preparation of monthly dashboard reporting for the Board, annual financial audit process and annual planning/budgeting.
  • Owning the organisation’s technology infrastructure plan, including:
    • Enabling the organisation to engage in virtual environments more effectively through the latest technologies and equipment.
    • Assessing and evaluating new technologies and systems to drive higher productivity and efficiency.

Risk Management, Governance and Compliance

  • Mitigating operational risk by reviewing existing infrastructure and making necessary upgrades.
  • Schedule and coordinate board meetings and Annual General Meeting in India and meeting regulatory/compliance reporting requirements.
  • Overseeing the development and maintenance of the organisation’s legal agreements

Real Estate Management

  • Proactively managing the organisation’s physical premises requirements, including tenancy agreement, insurance management and workplace optimisation for the India office.

Business Strategy

  • Working closely with the Executive Director, New Business Initiative & Growth, drive the overall business strategy for Community Business in India, monitoring local market developments and opportunities in line with our key focus areas to grow the business and ensure a sustainable business model.

Brand and Public Profile

  • Build and protect the integrity of and champion the Community Business’ brand in India, reinforcing our position as a leader in responsible and inclusive business practices and differentiating our offering in the areas of DE&I and Wellbeing.

Relationship Management

  • Build, nurture and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including CB peers and broader team, DIAN India members, prospects, partners, and vendors to ensure we continue to differentiate Community Business and the products and services we provide.

 

Competencies

Candidates should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Broad senior management experience with proven track record in financial, project and people management.  Ability to think strategically with attention to details.
  • A genuine passion and commitment to impacting positive change with regards to advancing DE&I.
  • Responsible and inclusive leadership style with the ability to inspire, motivate and manage a diverse team.  Role model of leadership and values-based decision making.
  • A critical mind, thinks creatively, with proven problem-solving skills.  A growth mindset with capacity to take reasoned risks, make mistakes and learn.
  • Result-oriented, resilient and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and multi-task under time pressure and to handle complexity, but also thrive in a dynamic team and work environment.  Ability to balance multiple projects / different priorities concurrently while meeting monthly reporting deadlines.
  • Experienced in change management and stakeholder engagement (internal & external)
  • People management skills, including staffing, talent management, performance management and development
  • Working with a Board of Directors – managing relationships, meetings, preparing agenda and reports. 
  • Familiarity with financial systems and accounting processes.
  • Solid HR experience at a senior level would be an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills – oral, written and presentation – with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels both internally and externally.
  • High degree of proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint as well as other platforms and tools.
